The Meguiars Cutting Disc is the market's best microfiber cutting pad. We like to use microfiber cutting pads over foam for a few reasons, the biggest being the amount of cut. Microfiber generates more heat than foam, so naturally, you can add a little more pressure and get more cut vs a foam pad. In addition, microfiber pads tend to sling compound much less, which is an issue with cutting foam pads because of how open the cells are on the pad.

The unique microfiber face of these pads is what really makes these pads aggressive. Unlike foam, where product tends to soak into the pad, microfiber pads keep your compound or polish right on the surface of the pad. This feature, when combined with the firm cutting foam interface, allows more of the abrasive in your compound to come in contact with your paint, allowing you to achieve much great cutting ability with your machine.

Clean the microfiber disc frequently using compressed air, a pad cleaning bush or a pad washer. This is a very critical step and something many causal DA users often overlook with foam pads. Microfiber pads hold way more spent clear coat vs foam pads do and you HAVE to clean them after every panel. It is better to do it after every pass.
